Riff Raff and are made up of members of lots of different ska bands. Fronted by Aidan Sterling lead singer with the Riffs and Feckin Ejits. They play fast paced upbeat ska, boot boy ska as they like to call it.
All original self penned songs all contain sing along chorus es with cheeky working class lyrics.
The lads have their own good time party on stage and the idea is to infect the audience with it till the place is a sea of skanking smiling faces.

Saturday night’s bands –
Stage Frite – Swanabilly psycho switch blade rock n roll from the good ol broads of Norfolk
The Ouse Valley Singles Club –
The OVSC are a completely original act that will give you a show unlike anything you will have seen or heard before. They take the traditional basic sound of Skiffle along with Folk, Funk, punk, Soul and Rock n Roll and combines it with with saucy British postcard humour. Their sound has been described as George Formby meets the The Clash and is a Cabaret show in the tradition of Music Hall and Working Men’s club values.

PLEASE NOTE: The Venue does not permit any BBQs or fires and does not allow dogs and they do not have hook ups for Caravans/ Campervans. However there is a Caravan site in close proximity (Fenland Camping & Caravan Park) which does accommodate to all the above if that is what you require.
Bognorphenia is a community interest project that celebrates the past, the present and the future and raises money to support young people and the wider community.  This year the Young People’s Day is on Saturday 12th September and Vintage Day is on Sunday 13th.

The Vintage Day includes a scooter custom show that is usually really well attended.  Held at Hotham Park, Bognor Regis.

More information, as it is released, can be found on their website.

The fancy dress-themed Sunday night is legendary and worth staying an extra night for even though it isn’t a bank holiday.

The accommodation at Golden Coast has sold out but their sister site, Twitchen House, has availability.  You can call 01271 870343 to book or add yourself to the cancellation list for the main site.

Another option is the Woolacombe Sands park which is about half way down the hill towards the town.  They have some lodges called Waney Edge which are really close to the Golden Coast.   It’s probably about a 5-10 minute walk.  Here is a link to check them out.

If you’d rather camp on Golden Coast then pre-bookable pitches are available, usually at £42 for 3 nights.

If all else fails then you can see what’s available on Booking.com here or there are some amazing places on Air BnB, and if you’re a new customer and use this link you’ll get a $32 credit for your first booking.

October

Once again the 2020 scooter rally season ends in Southport.

Statement : 5/8/2020

British Scooter Rallies Association
It seems that this year has turned into an absolute disaster for UK Scootering.
For clubs, alliances, associations and traders , it has posed many challenges, not withstanding the cancellation of many treasured events which are the backbone of our scene.

This statement offers yet more bad news, although many people I’m sure half expected it after hearing that the company managing the council owned Southport Floral Halls had gone into receivership.

Because of the overall uncertainty as to whether the Council will have the venue reopened in October, the delaying in the Governments change of policy towards indoor music venues/events and the drastic reduction in venue capacities and layouts as part of COVID guidelines which are to be introduced if and when venues can open, we feel at this time that some kind of decision needs to made about the future of the rally.

With that in mind, and the health and well-being of all our volunteer stewards to consider, we have sadly come to the decision to cancel the evening entertainment and daytime trade and custom show, which was to be held inside the Southport Floral Halls.

However all is not lost

Many of us, unless more restrictions are introduced, will still be attending Southport and making the best of it, and in that spirit VFM will be donating trophies for a Ridden Outdoor Scooter Show and sourcing a bit of outdoor space for a pop up Market.

Also if guidelines allow, we will be djing in one of the pubs.

We will announce more info in the next couple of weeks, including more details for the above pop up show and market.

2021 will return bigger and better, but until then we may see you in one of Southport’s many pubs for a beer and a chat.

Lexham Insurance

I met the Lexham guys properly at the Isle of Wight last year and learned a lot about the extra value they provide for scooterists.  They really support the scene so if you need a scooter insurance quote then visit their website or give them a ring on 01379 646529 as they know their stuff.  They also run a stall at most of the 2020 national scooter rallies so you can go and say hello in person!

SLUK

The SLUK guys are rally-going scooterists who have some useful bits and bobs in their online shop.   From the Buzzwangle to plastic screens, comfortable Airhawk seat pads and Moni Moto security trackers to Sticky’s new Scooterboys book.  They test the latest clothing, including wet weather clothing so that we stay dry and warm too!

Scoots and Soul

If you need a seat for your Lambretta then Scoots and Soul produce some beauties.  They are all handmade by Johnny and Jane Cambridge who are scooterists themselves.  Check out their website here for more details and prices.  They also supply quality t-shirts which my husband Lee loves, and virtually lives in at the moment!
