10th Bulldog Run – the riders

For the 10th Bulldog Run I gave up the chance to ride my scooter in order to go pillion and take photos of the riders. I love an action shot and have very few pics of me riding (I can only think of one, and it’s not very good!) so thought that other scooterists might like to see themselves too.

Newsflash :
Dizzy has just announced that the sale of stickers, patches, badges, teas, cakes and the auction raised the grand total of £1691.58! Thanks to everyone who came and donated to this fantastic cause!

Before I start, I must confess that these aren’t great photos. Most of the images on this website are taken with my iPhone, as I find it so convenient and think that they’re good enough for my purposes. However, a phone really isn’t up to the job of trying to capture a moving target, particularly when I’m moving at speed myself.

As it turned out, even my fancy DSLR camera isn’t really up to the job either! Maybe one day I’ll get a lens which produces better results, but they aren’t cheap and I can’t really justify it in the short term.

So here they are, and hopefully the riders will enjoy seeing themselves on this lovely ride through West Sussex. If you spotted me and my camera on the back of a black GTS then there’s a chance you’ll be featured below!

Chichester to Goodwood

We left Chichester just after 11am and headed towards Goodwood first, led by the Area 51 marshals.

I couldn’t resist including both photos of this Vespa chopper rider. The first is my favourite but the second one looks like he’s riding with his eyes shut!

I’m curious what these scooterists are all looking at!

The avenue of trees as you pass the Goodwood Golf Club is beautiful at this time of the year.

Goodwood to Midhurst

Once we’d passed the racecourse it was all downhill for a while, through Singleton and Cocking to Midhurst.

And finally we arrived at the Bulldog Rescue in Carron Lane. There were hundreds of other scooter riders there already!

Phase Two – going to the Greyhound pub

We left just after midday to go to the pub, which is a couple of miles south of Midhurst.

The ride home

After a couple of hours of socialising, our gang left the pub for a sunny ride home! Elliot lead the way, closely followed by Gail and the other scooter riders.
