To celebrate the end of lockdown and being able to get out and about with our scooter friends again, I had some great GP merchandise to give away to a lucky reader! The contest has now closed and we can reveal that the winner was Marc Gibbins from Littlehampton! Marc actually owns a red GP, much like the one on the t-shirt, so is looking forward to wearing it and reading the book.

Terms and conditions: One entry per email address. Only UK entries will be accepted. The winner will be chosen at random via random.org from entries made before midday (BST) on Saturday May 29th. The winner will be contacted by email and must provide their postal address by midday on Monday May 31st, after which the prizes will be posted via Royal Mail second class delivery. If the winner does not have a UK address, or does not provide it by midday on May 31st, another winner will be drawn, and this will continue until a valid winner is found. The winner will be announced on social media, via the Diary Of A Detour page on Facebook and the @scootergirlie Instagram account.

    My favourite is the SX200 Probably Nostalgia as i remember like yesterday being green with envy in 1967 when a wealthy businessman’s son appeared on one, it was on great Yarmouth north parade., we all had used Lambretta’s mine a 150cc silver special pacemaker 64 reg it was tatty but i Loved it. We all marveled at the electronic ignition on the SX plus the speed it would accelerate etc. 🚀💛 HAPPY CAREFREE DAYS in 1967 the SUMMER OF LOVE with flowers in your hair. 🌹🌹

    My first scooter was an SX200 and they must be high on popularity list but, currently I ride a lovely old LD150, their a plodder and a definite eye catcher, it’s an LD for me.
