It seems that many people who are struggling with boredom at the moment have resorted to good old fashioned jigsaws to fill some time. That’s certainly the case in our house where Lee is currently spending all his spare time on the one I bought him for Christmas. I had it printed from a photo of him riding his scooter and it’s quite a challenge as there’s a lot of grey tarmac to identify!
In the present circumstances jigsaws are about as easy to buy as hand sanitiser and pasta, and there’s even a two month wait for new stock on Amazon! So one option is to create your own, like I did…

Create Your Own Scooter Jigsaw
I used Photobox, who partner with top manufacturer Ravensburger, and produce high quality jigsaws of up to 1000 pieces. Photobox create all sorts of things from photos, from mugs to canvas prints. For a jigsaw you will need a high resolution photo but it could be of anything – a scooter, a holiday snap or a group shot of your family.
When I told my friend Stacey about what I’d got Lee for Christmas, she then bought scooter jigsaws for some of our friends using photos I took on one of our photo shoots. Here is Mark’s one, which he did in the Christmas holidays and took him 12 hours over a couple of days!
£10 off if you spend £30
The Photobox jigsaws aren’t cheap, but if you’re a new customer then using this link will get you a £10 discount if you spend over £30. So get together with a friend, order a couple of jigsaws and split the costs for a decent saving. The usual price for a 1000 piece jigsaw is £29.99. Smaller/cheaper jigsaws are available, including sizes which are perfect for children.

I can help with photos!
If you don’t have any suitable photos then I can supply a high resolution image from my website at a cost of £5. Most of the photos on Diary Of A Detour are my copyright. The ones on the website itself would be no good for a jigsaw as they are low quality, which is fine for online viewing but no good for printing, and many contain a watermark which you wouldn’t want. If you buy one from me then I will email a high resolution, non-watermarked image to you and then you can use it to order a jigsaw from Photobox.
Here are some of the lovely photos you could make into a jigsaw! There are plenty more in the scooters and travel sections. I will only sell images which I have taken myself, and if you choose a street art photo then I will share any income with the artist if I know who they are.
