Bognor water refill stations

Last updated : 15/6/2019

With the war on plastic in full swing I thought it worth promoting the Bognor water refill stations so that locals and visitors alike can bring their own bottles and fill them up again when on the go.

There is a website, Refill.org.uk, dedicated to refill schemes and businesses can register on there if they are happy to provide a refill station.

Bognor Water Refill Businesses

There are a few Bognor businesses registered, including the following :

  • Hatters
  • Sweet Flamingo
  • Heaps of PCs
  • The Dog And Duck
  • James Drycleaners
  • Bognor Funeralcare
  • The William Hardwicke
  • Tao
  • Costa
  • Brewers Fayre

…but I’m sure there are plenty more who would be happy to be included.  Here is a link to their website where you can register and add your details.

If you want to take advantage of this scheme and find places which will allow you to refill your bottle while you’re out and about then download the app which searches for refill stations which are close to wherever you are.

Public Refill Stations

However, as an early morning runner it’s also nice to know where the public spots are that I can use to rehydrate.  Most businesses aren’t open when I’m out and about so the Bognor water refill stations below are taps which are available 24/7.  It has to be said that many could do with some TLC, but the main thing is that they provide clean water for the public to use.

The most westerly point on the prom is at the Aldwick Beach Cafe where there is a tap for bottles and bowls for dogs to use too.

My next refill station in Bognor is in the town opposite the Regis Centre, right on the prom.

As you travel east, there is a tap in Felpham outside the pubic toilets next to the sailing club.

I hope this has inspired you to use less plastic and use the Bognor water refill stations rather than buying new bottles.

I’m sure many of the local cafes will also fill your bottle if you ask nicely!  If you know of more stations then please comment below and I will add them.

Thank you! I think Bognor could improve the facilities for water refills but at least visitors know where to go to top up their bottles!
