This is the first in an occasional series where I spotlight some of my favourite street artists. To kick things off I’m featuring Sprite, from Brighton, an artist I know well and who has been involved in a few of my private projects.
I first met Sprite on Christmas Eve in 2018, when I was in the middle of my cancer treatment. I’d wanted to spy on my angel wings in Trafalgar Lane to see if they were still intact, but by coincidence they were being painted over by Ed209 when we were passing. But Sprite and Snub were also there so I said Hi and went back a bit later to see their finished pieces (see below).
Since then we’ve kept in touch and Sprite taught my son how to paint with a street art lesson at Black Rock a couple of years ago, which was so cool. She also helped arrange for my scooter to get a unique paint job from her partner in crime, Snub23.
Having just unveiled her new website, Sprite wants to share her work with the world. She’s a lady on a mission, who takes a personal interest in many issues including mental health and women’s health.
Who is Sprite
Although Sprite is based in Brighton she’s worked internationally at events producing fun, exciting projects for various clients. She has worked on private commissions in domestic properties and gardens as well as large-scale murals for businesses and schools. She has transformed a few telephone cabinets around Brighton too!
She painted a solo piece at the renowned 2021 Upfest in Bristol and has travelled to Berlin, Amsterdam, the US and London for festivals and collaborations.
Sprite is a multi-disciplined street artist, an expert stencil maker, and freehand artist, as well as producing digital designs.
Most of Sprite’s designs are inspired by animals, from her mental health bunnies, to kittens, cute dogs, hummingbirds and tigers.
Sprite loves to tackle new techniques and has a unique energy and tenacity which she brings to her work.

I’m always keen to support street artists, particularly those I’ve become friends with over recent years. I’ve bought Sprite’s mental health cards as well as her sticker packs because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love a sticker?!
