Whenever I go on a scooter rideout to Brighton I like to pop by some of the street art there, particularly when I’m with my friends and their awesome scooters, for a quick photoshoot.
Luckily, they put up with me for this, just! So when we attended the Ace Cafe Brighton Burn Up (read about that here) I persuaded them to ride back to Bognor via Trafalgar Lane, one of the best spots in Brighton to see some street art.

Trafalgar Lane Street Art
I’ll start with my own scooter, which was painted by top artist Snub23, which is shown here next to one of Sean Lyons, aka Glimmertwin32’s recent murals. It’s a really striking, pop art-inspired piece. Follow Sean on Instagram here.
I then posed it in front of Seth, aka Snub23’s massive wall at the end of Trafalgar Lane, which is just the most beautiful and colourful mural ever! I’m not sure whether to be more impressed by the fine detail that he did on my scooter (particularly the horn cover) or the patience it took to cover a massive wall. This seemed too good an opportunity to miss, putting Andy Slade’s Vespa, The Relic, with its eye mural, in front of Fek’s massive eye. Here is Fek’s Instagram feed to see more of his work.
Putt’s new pride and joy, his Lambretta GP, looked really cool in front of this peacock-style mural beside the Travis Perkins shop.
Next was Mark’s street-style Lambretta which featured heavily in my first street art with scooters post. Here it’s featured with a fantastic mural by Mick Mowgli, one of my favourite Brighton artists. It looks like the creature is about to attack the scooter! Next up is Snowy, who didn’t take too much persuasion to pose for me with the latest incarnation of his ever-changing Vespa.
Putt loved this piece by Rob Vonglas, a freelance illustrator who does a bit of street art on the side. It’s a great cartoon figure with a Batman theme.

Our final Trafalgar Lane pose was by Sid, son of Gail, who’d ridden with us for the first time on his bike. It was lovely to see him again as he last came to a rally in his early teens, and there were lots of ‘my haven’t you grown?’ comments! Poor guy… I think he enjoyed it though and politely put up with me taking photos too – he can come again!
Another street art mission
Just a week after the Ace Cafe rideout I returned to Brighton on the GTS. It was partly another street art scouting mission and partly an attempt to find a birthday present for my husband. Both were moderately successful!
My first stop was the piece by Snub23 and Sprite on the side of an NHS doctor’s practice just off London Road which they painted for the pride weekend. It’s so colourful and makes a great contrast to the black scooter.
Then I rode to the Upper Lewes Road to find this art hole by Artholes101. He’s a graffiti artist usually, painting as Qwesh Tyans, but occasionally paints one of these clever pieces.
Then I popped down to Kemptown where The Postman Artist had placed these two iconic paste-ups. The Postman has images all over the city (and I’ve got one of his stickers on my scooter!) but they are usually smaller. Black Rock Street Art
This large mural is a collaboration, by Guy Favela, who also featured in my previous post about scooters and street art and Mick Mowgli.
I’m not sure who the artist is for this piece, but I loved the colours and style.
Here is another piece by Sean Lyons, a Love Heart sweet which he did a few weeks ago. Jonjo Lyons provided the idea for the words and it’s so cute!
I can highly recommend following the street artists on Instagram where their best work can be seen. The beauty of street art is that they are painting new pieces all the time.
